Leslie's

I went into Leslie’s located on University Avenue in Gainesville and was met by Jay. I went to purchase a pool vacuum and Jay was outstanding helping me make my final decision. He was friendly, courteous, and just did an overall great job making me feel good about buying from Leslie’s. I used to shop at Pinch A Penny in Gainesville, but discovered that they are extremely unethical in business practices and the owner, in my opinion , is where all of the unethical practices begin. The only place I will go from now on is Leslie’s and I would highly recommend working with Jay.

I used to come here frequently when it was Backyard Water. The change to Leslie's has been a steady decline in service and convenience. I made my last trip here a few days ago to try and get liquid chlorine refills. They don't open till 10 (inconvenient) and even then there's only a single person opening so getting assistance or refills takes way longer than it should. The employees are helpful and polite, but whatever management/corporate changes are requiring them to open so late and constantly be understaffed just isn't working for my needs. There's just no reason to come here when pinch a penny is 2 minutes away and has better hours, is better staffed, and has same if not better prices.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Polite as well. However, they do seem understaffed at times (no fault of those staff present) and there has been confusion on the hours displayed on Google and the actual store opening, so I would recommend double-checking before heading to the store. Prices are competitive with other retailers and even with Amazon in many cases.

This place really went downhill. I miss when it was backyard water. I buy my supply in bulk and their tank was so low. It was not able to fill up my truck. So I gave up. come to find out they don’t know how to do math either so they charged me for too much. I will not be back. I know exactly how many jugs I filled because I had to fill the yellow jugs and pour it into my tank.

Pool testing was easy and told us the actual product along with measurements to keep our pool clean and awesome! No guessing

Jay helped us with pool water testing this morning. He was super friendly and personable in a way that felt genuine (and not too much / overly so for someone like me who’s quite the introvert). His energy was calming and he helped explain things clearly and made us feel super welcome and at ease. Wonderful experience!
